Background
The Charsfield Hotel is on St Kilda Road close to the centre of Melbourne. The hotel is surrounded by office buidings and would be very convenient if you were visiting this district for work. You are able to get a quick tram ride into the centre of the city so this hotel is ideal if you prefer to stay outside of the CBD but still be close by. I was visiting Melbourne to go to the MCG for a football game and I found that it very easy to get into the city and then go to the game.
The hotel was great I was in a room at the front of the hotel, there was a little noise from the street - mainly trams going past but wasn't too loud or a distraction. The room had a lovely bay window and was nicely furnished. The bathroom was nicely fitted and if I had to pick one negative the toilet was very close to the wall - it was quite a narrow room.
The building is beautiful - looks to be from about 1880's or 90's if I had to guess. They bill the hotel as 4 star and I would totally agree with this rating.
Price
I booked through lastminute.com.au and got this hotel at about A$120 per night and I think that it is worth every dollar and is great value for a hotel in Melbourne
Verdict
Fantastic Hotel good location - I would stay there again for certain.
